The chair of AMA, Ms. Armela Krasniqi, participated in the 23rd Plenary Assembly of the Mediterranean Network of Regulators (MNRA), where the main focus of the meeting was UNESCO’s principles for the governance of digital platforms and their implementation.
UNESCO Representative for the Protection of Freedom of Expression and the Safety of Journalists, Mikel Aguirre Idiaquez, encouraged AMA’s initiative for co-regulation with platforms to prevent harmful content. He emphasized that the support for these initiatives is formalized in UNESCO’s Guidelines, which promotes cooperation and communication between regulators and platforms.
Meanwhile, the Chair of AMA, Ms. Armela Krasniqi, presented the results of her representation as President of the MNRA at this Forum which organized by UNESCO, a leading organization for the obligations of all parties in the proper governance of digital platforms.
The 23rd Plenary Assembly of the Mediterranean Network of Regulators (MNRA) was attended by high-ranking representatives of UNESCO and high-ranking regulators from the 27 countries that are members of this network.
The Chair of AMA, Ms. Armela Krasniqi has held the position of Vice President since December 2022, and in 2023-2024, she served as President of the Mediterranean Network of Regulators (MNRA).
The Mediterranean Network of Regulatory Authorities was established in November 1997 as a dynamic communication space and exchange of practices on models and the transformation of the audiovisual market. One of the primary objectives of the Network remains strengthening and aligning the approaches of member countries in addressing the challenges of the audiovisual sector. The Network includes regulatory authorities from countries such as France, Spain, Israel, Italy, Greece, Croatia, Portugal, Morocco, and others, covering the Mediterranean region.
