AMA’s Chair, Ms. Armela Krasniqi, signed today a Memorandum of Understanding with the State Labour and Social Services Inspectorate. This agreement aims to strengthen cooperation between the two institutions in order to take joint measures aimed at increasing public awareness and information within the audiovisual media sector regarding the implementation of legal provisions related to working conditions, employees protection, salaries, social security and workplace well-being.
As stated by the AMA’s Chair, the cooperation will also include the joint organization of awareness-raising and informative activities, including the participation of other relevant stakeholders, with a focus on the roles and responsibilities of each institution in the audiovisual media sector, as well as the rights and obligations arising from labour legislation; the drafting, approval, and the sharing of informative materials; the effective exchange of necessary sectoral information to identify the types of media, structures, roles and corresponding responsibilities etc.
The discussions with the Head of the State Labour and Social Services Inspectorate, Mr. Eljo Muçaj, concluded with a joint commitment to strengthening our cooperation to improve the institutional legal and regulatory framework, with the aim of enhancing the effective implementation of labour legislation in the audiovisual media sector. This includes, but is not limited to, the organization of periodic meetings with syndicates, employee and employer representatives, to assess and propose necessary amendments to the legal and regulatory framework that aim to strengthen the labour rights applicability and improve working conditions in the sector.
