AMA’s Chair, Ms. Armela Krasniqi, held a work meeting with Ms. Latifa Akharbach, the High Authority for Audiovisual Communication (HACA) Chair of the Kingdom of Morocco.
As a strong and active voice in all forums organized by the Francophone Network of Media Regulators (REFRAM), Ms. Akharbach plays a leading role at UNESCO and the Global Forum for Media Regulators, inciting joint initiatives that promote freedom of expression and the audiovisual market regulation in line with international standards. Within the framework of these initiatives, the meeting addressed issues of mutual interest, including the media services regulation in the digital age, ensuring media pluralism, protecting media users’ rights and promoting professional standards in audiovisual content, particularly on video-sharing platforms.
Ms. Krasniqi also presented the main pillars of the Authority’s work, recent developments in the legal framework and the alignment with the latest European acts.
The meetings and discussions held in various forums, as well as the establishment of this bilateral bridge between the two regulatory bodies have initiated a structured and sustainable dialogue between AMA and HACA, expanding the network of collaborations that the Authority has established.
The Audiovisual Media Authority of Albania and its counterpart in Morocco are both members of the Francophone Network of Media Regulators (REFRAM) and the Network of Mediterranean Regulatory Authorities (RIRM).
