AMA’s Chairwoman, Ms. Armela Krasniqi, participated in the 3rd International Conference on the Safety of Journalists, organized by the International Center for the Safety of Journalists and Media Professionals (ICSJ), under the theme “Bearing Witness: Trauma and Resilience in Modern Journalism”, held in Thessaloniki.
With the participation of representatives from international institutions, regulatory authorities, academia and media professionals, this conference created an important space for dialogue on the challenges related to the journalists’ safety and well-being in an increasingly complex media environment.
Chairwoman Krasniqi was invited to contribute to the panel titled “Institutionalising Resilience: Strategic and Policy Responses to Journalistic Trauma”, in which representatives from international organisations and public institutions participated as well, including Adrien Collin from the European Federation of Journalists, Cecilia Lagomarsino from the OSCE, Radica Zekovic from the Ministry of Culture and Media of Montenegro and Nikos Panagiotou from the Aristotle University of Thessaloniki.
Other topics discussed at the conference included the impact of digital content and exposure to sensitive material, safety in high-risk environments, as well as the development of resilient newsrooms equipped to address the psychological challenges of the profession.
The conference served as a valuable platform for the exchange of experiences and best practices, contributing to the strengthening of international cooperation for the protection of journalists and the promotion of safe and responsible journalism.
