The Chairwoman of AMA, Mrs. Armela Krasniqi, was welcomed at the offices of the Council of Europe by Mrs. Alina Tatarenko, Head of the Cooperation Division for Freedom of Expression.
During their meeting, Mrs. Krasniqi presented AMA’s main priorities, among which the most important include ensuring ownership transparency of audiovisual media, a process that was already completed, the co-regulation of Video Sharing Platforms, starting with TikTok as a first step, media freedom, media literacy, and the functioning of AMA’s key sectors as an independent regulatory institution.
At the conclusion of this meeting with Mrs. Alina Tatarenko, Head of the Cooperation Division for Freedom of Expression at the Council of Europe, the Chair of AMA stated: “I received assurance from Mrs. Tatarenko that we will continue to have the support, not only in expertise but in other areas as well, from the Council of Europe in further steps such as legislative ones, institutional capacity building, and facilitating dialogue among indirect actors in the regulatory environment.”
