Audiovisual Media Authority’s Chairwoman, Ms. Armela Krasniqi, participated in the second day of the Digital Communications and Media Forum, organized by the International Institute of Communications (IIC) and held at the Romanian Parliament premises in Bucharest.
Ms. Krasniqi participated in a panel discussion dedicated to the challenge of balancing technological innovation, consumer rights and online safety in the digital era. The discussion also included Mari Velsand; Peter Matzneller, Netflix representative; Calin Cozan, Director of Digital Services at the Romanian Authority for Management and Regulation in Communications. The panel was moderated by Allyson Leacock, Chairperson of the Barbados regulator and Director of the IIC Board.
The discussions focused on the protection of minors online, the digital platforms’ responsibilities, the handling of illegal content and the challenges arising from the implementation of new regulations in a rapidly evolving media and technology landscape.
During the panel, Ms. Krasniqi presented AMA’s cooperation results with TikTok and X, as well as the types of violations identified in the illegal content reported by the Albanian public on these platforms.
