Ambassador Mr. Lamberto Zannier, Head of the OSCE/ODIHR Election Observation Mission for the May 11 elections, and media analyst Ms. Elma Sehalić, met today with AMA’s Chair Ms. Armela Krasniqi. The meeting’s topic focused on AMA’s preparations for monitoring the coverage of the electoral campaign by audiovisual media service providers.
“To support this process, monitors have been trained in compliance with the requirements outlined in the Electoral Code and based on the Monitoring Methodology developed by the CEC. All technical, logistical, and administrative measures have been taken to do the maximum in this process” – stated Chairwoman Krasniqi while addressing the interest expressed by the observer mission representatives.
AMA’s Chair explained that cooperation with the CEC began in January this year, focusing on monitoring activities that the Commission has deemed prohibited.
The OSCE/ODIHR Mission was interested and received information on specific aspects of the monitoring process, including the allocation of airtime among electoral subjects, political advertisements broadcasting, electoral polls presentation, etc.
