The Audiovisual Media Authority Chairwoman, Ms. Armela Krasniqi, held a meeting with the Commissioner for Protection from Discrimination, Ms. Genta Tafa Bungo, where discussions focused on strengthening inter-institutional cooperation to promote equality, uphold human rights and combat all forms of discrimination in audio and audiovisual media.
During the meeting, the important role of the media in shaping public opinion was emphasized, as well as the need to ensure responsible media communication that respects human dignity and promotes diversity, inclusion and tolerance.
Ms. Krasniqi emphasized AMA’s commitment to monitoring and promoting compliance with professional and ethical standards in audiovisual content, highlighting the importance of fostering a media environment that contributes to the protection of the fundamental rights and freedoms of every individual.
At the conclusion of the meeting, Ms. Krasniqi and Ms. Bungo expressed their readiness to further expand cooperation between the institutions they lead, through joint awareness-raising activities, media literacy programmes and initiatives aimed at building a more inclusive, fair and respectful media environment that upholds diversity, equality and human rights
