AMA’s Chairwoman welcomed representatives of audiovisual media service providers, with whom she consulted on several additions and amendments to the regulation, “On audio and audiovisual commercial communications, their formats, conditions and the permitted daily duration of advertising broadcasts”.
The legal amendments introduced through the transposition of key European acts, such as the Audiovisual Media Services Directive (AVMSD), have created the need to review secondary legislation, including the regulation on commercial communications.
Having been previously acquainted with the proposed amendments submitted for consultation and review, the representatives of audiovisual media service providers sought to discuss and clarify specific provisions of this regulation.
Also present at the consultation held at the Audiovisual Media Authority was Ms. Jorida Tabaku, Head of the Parliamentary Committee on Human Rights and Means of Public Information.
The Chair informed the participants on the importance of the European media-related acts transposition, which are not only part of the integration process, but also aim to further regulate the audio and audiovisual market in line with European standards.
Krasniqi emphasized that the institution she leads stands alongside the operators, remaining open to any proposals that promote legality and proper regulation, ensuring that secondary legislation serves its purpose in accordance with the law and Albania’s European obligations.
