Violations in audiovisual content during 2024, AMA reviews 241 cases

In 2024, a total of 241 cases of audiovisual content have been verified and reviewed for compliance with legal requirements and ethical standards. AMA’s monitoring and content analysis teams have identified several types of violations, including:

* Protection of children from inappropriate content (44%)

Children’s safety and well-being remain a priority for the institution, as some media outlets have broadcast content that could negatively impact minors.

* Non-compliance with programming conditions as per license/authorization requirements (23%)

Some audiovisual operators have not adhered to the content and format approved in their license, deviating from the approved programming and broadcasting content that was not part of their legal obligations.

* Use of hate speech and discrimination (21%)

In some broadcasts, the use of offensive and discriminatory language has been noticed, which is a concerning phenomenon that requires immediate intervention to ensure ethical and responsible communication.

* Issues with broadcast advertisements (12%)

The Audiovisual Media Authority emphasizes the importance of adhering to rules to ensure a safe and professional media environment for all citizens. For this reason, it will continue to rigorously monitor audiovisual content and take measures against identified violations. The goal remains guaranteeing a healthy, fair media environment in compliance with legal and ethical standards.
