The application “Kanali im”, which was illegally streaming Albanian television channels, has been removed from the Google Play Store following the identification of broadcasting rights violations.
The request came after a verification process conducted by AMA’s inspection teams, which found that the application offered unauthorized access to Albanian television channels and copyrighted audiovisual content.
This case represents a clear example of the illegal distribution of audiovisual content online, undermining the media market and the rights of lawful operators.
The Audiovisual Media Authority states that it will continue to monitor the digital space and report applications, platforms and websites that unlawfully distribute television channels and programmes, in order to protect Albanian audiovisual works.
