AMA’s Chairwoman, Ms. Krasniqi, held a meeting with the Parliamentary Assembly of the Council of Europe delegation, composed of co-rapporteurs Mr. Ionuț-Marian Stroe of the European People’s Party Group (Romania), Mr. Paweł Jabłoński of the European Conservatives, Patriots and Affiliates Group (Poland), Mr. Bas Klein, Deputy Head of the Secretariat of the Monitoring Committee and Ms. Giulia Re, Head of the Council of Europe Office in Tirana.
During the meeting, discussions focused on AMA’s activity as an independent regulatory authority in audio and audiovisual media field, as well as the developments and challenges of the media landscape in the country. Particular attention was given to the process of aligning Albanian legislation with key European acts, including the European Media Freedom Act (EMFA) and the Digital Services Act (DSA).
AMA’s Chairwoman responded to the delegation’s interest regarding various issues related to the institution’s decision-making, the legal framework in force and developments in the audiovisual market, including processes that are still ongoing.
