The Audiovisual Media Authority Chairwoman, Ms. Armela Krasniqi, participated in the 13th annual meeting of the Black Sea Regulatory Authorities Forum (BRAF), held in Sofia, Bulgaria. The main topic of the meeting was “Artificial Intelligence in Media and Regulation.”
AMA’s Chairwoman was part of the panel “The Future of Media Regulation in an AI-Driven World”. The discussion focused on regulatory instruments, monitoring mechanisms, best practices and regional cooperation in a media environment increasingly influenced by Artificial Intelligence.
In her remarks, Ms. Krasniqi emphasized the importance of transparency in the use of AI, as well as the role of media literacy as an essential tool for helping citizens distinguish reliable information.
“Technology can support journalism, but it cannot replace quality journalism, editorial responsibility and human judgment”, said AMA’s Chairwoman.
The panel was moderated by Dr. Simona Veleva, a member of Bulgaria’s Council for Electronic Media (CEM). Part of the discussion was Dr. Deniz Güler, Vice President of RTÜK, Türkiye; Saša Simović, Assistant Director for Legal Affairs at REM, Serbia; and Valentin-Alexandru Jucan, Vice President of the NAC, Romania.
The meeting brought together representatives of regulatory authorities from Albania, Armenia, Bulgaria, Georgia, Greece, Romania, Serbia and Türkiye, providing a valuable platform for the exchange of best practices and the strengthening of cooperation among regulators across the region.
