In 2023 only, the AMA’s Council of Complaints reviewed 390 complaints. Based on the data released by the CoC, these complaints were respectively filed by:
– 89% from individuals
– 4.7% from civil society
– 3% from law firms
– 2% from institutions
– 1.3% from commercial entities
59.5% of these complaints elaborate on the violation of human rights and communication ethics in audio and audiovisual broadcasts. The rest relate to the violation of children’s rights, their privacy, commercial communications in audiovisual media, etc.
This is the highest number of complaints ever registered in the Council of Complaints with AMA, which proves the increase of the public’s trust as well as higher awareness on the content’s quality transmitted by the AMSPs.
Increased communication with the public, serious addressing of their concerns and complaints, as well as media education, as an important process of shaping a responsible audience in the media market, remain a priority of AMA’s work!
