The public consultation roundtables continued in Durrës and Tirana with operators authorized by AMA. These consultations are being held to discuss the amendments proposed by the Audiovisual Media Authority to the Regulation “On the criteria and procedures for granting authorizations”.
The proposed amendments introduce new criteria for obtaining authorizations, strengthened legal measures to ensure that entities provide the service they are authorized for, as well as simplified requirements regarding the documentation that audiovisual media service providers must submit in their authorization or renewal applications.
AMA Chairwoman, Ms. Armela Krasniqi, stated that, as in other regions she has also found support from authorized operators in Durrës and Tirana for the regulatory amendments, which aim to put an end to the manipulation of terrestrial signal distribution for purposes that violate licensing terms and broadcasting rights.
Ms. Krasniqi stated that we will not stop the fight against illegality and any action that undermines fair competition and rights holders.
