On Wednesday, March 6, 2019, a working meeting was held at the premises of the Audiovisual Media Authority, in Tirana, between the Program and Monitoring Units of both Albanian and Kosovo National Regulatory Authorities.
The representatives of AMA and Independent Media Commission (IMC) focused more on the problem of content transmitted and their assessment based on the effective legislation framework into force. The issues discussed were seen in the function of guaranteeing the plurality of audiovisual broadcasting, the diversity and quality of programs broadcast by televisions, radios, digital and cable platforms, etc.
The meeting was intended to exchange experience of both National Regulators, in their commitment to comply with transmission standards concerning the protection of minors, avoiding hate speech and discrimination of any form, advertising and commercial communications, respecting the copyright of audio and audiovisual productions, European works, etc.
AMA and IMC are considering the possibility to improve the applications and software intended to make a quality monitoring and systematic publication of data from the audiovisual market performance. Meetings of this nature will continue to be organized in the future in Tirana or Pristina, in order to exchange of experiences and find more efficient monitoring and assessment models for audiovisual programs, as well as the need to intervene in the betterment of secondary legislation in this regard.
