The Audiovisual Media Authority has warned the public about a fraudulent scheme linked to the pirated “AlbKanale” application, which, according to AMA, illegally distributed television content and copyrighted packages without authorization.
AMA announced that the application was blocked on August 11, 2026, following a monitoring and technical analysis process carried out by the institution’s inspection teams. The intervention focused on the unauthorized distribution of Digitalb and Tring packages, TV Klan and RTSH channels, as well as sports content.
Following the disruption of the service, the “AlbKanale” operators claimed that they had fallen victim to a cyberattack and urged users to make financial contributions to restore the service, including payments in cryptocurrency.
In light of the situation, the Audiovisual Media Authority urges citizens not to send any funds to the operators, stressing that “AlbKanale” is not out of service because of a cyberattack, but as a result of AMA’s intervention against a service that was distributing content without the necessary rights.
AMA calls on users not to make payments or cryptocurrency contributions, stressing that such transactions are irreversible and that funding pirated services supports illegal activity.
The inspection teams’ process includes monitoring network traffic, analyzing transmission streams, identifying source servers and cooperating with international operators to report violations.
The Audiovisual Media Authority reiterates its commitment to combating audiovisual piracy and urges citizens to choose licensed operators and services.
