The Audiovisual Media Authority’s Chairwoman, Ms. Armela Krasniqi, held a working meeting with the Ombudsman, Mr. Endrit Shabani, focusing on the further strengthening of institutional cooperation.
During the meeting, the parties discussed expanding their cooperation and the possibility of organizing joint activities in the near future, with the aim of increasing effectiveness in addressing issues of public interest.
One of the key pillars of cooperation between AMA and the Ombudsman remains the initiative “Alliance against Hate Speech”, implemented in partnership with the Commissioner for Protection from Discrimination and the Albanian Media Council. This initiative aims to combat hate speech through awareness-raising, promotion of information and fostering national-level dialogue.
In this context, the importance of building bridges of cooperation and interaction with civil society and public institutions was emphasized, in order to address this phenomenon in a sustainable manner.
At the conclusion of the meeting, Ms. Armela Krasniqi and Mr. Endrit Shabani agreed to organize new joint roundtables, aimed at raising awareness on hate speech consequences, its impact on the country’s democratic development and its reduction within Albanian society.
