As part of Audiovisual Media Authority proposals or the draft act on certain additions and amendments to the Regulation “On the criteria and procedures for granting authorizations”, AMA’s Chairwoman, Ms. Armela Krasniqi, continued the public consultations with audiovisual media service providers in the Elbasan region.
During this meeting, the authorized entities were presented with the proposed amendments, which aim to simplify the procedures for the authorizations renewal while also strengthening oversight in the audiovisual market.
As in previous meetings, audiovisual media service providers representatives in Elbasan also expressed their full support for the proposed changes, which are expected to further stop illegal practices in the audiovisual market.
“I am pleased that, following Kukës and Dibër regions, we also found full support in Elbasan from the industry sector for the steps we are taking. For us at AMA, this is very good news”, stated Ms. Krasniqi.
This draft act aims to further improve the regulatory framework for granting authorizations by reflecting current developments in the media market, technological challenges and the need to strengthen measures that ensure the broadcasting rights protection, signal integrity and fair competition.
The Audiovisual Media Authority will continue the consultative roundtables tour in other cities across the country, with the objective of ensuring broad participation from all relevant stakeholders and guaranteeing that every proposed amendment to the bylaw is based on open dialogue, transparency and mutual understanding.
