Just three weeks after the collaboration began between AMA and TikTok, and the launch of a dedicated link for citizens on the Authority’s official online page, hundreds of videos and profiles have been reported.
To report content involving violence, hate speech, child abuse, community harm, or violations of fundamental rights, a dedicated link was created on AMA’s official page where citizens can submit videos they deem harmful. These reports are reviewed by a working group set up for this purpose, and any content deemed in violation of legal provisions is reported to the dedicated AMA channel on the TikTok platform, along with the request and legal justification for its removal from the platform.
Within the first three weeks of this collaboration, AMA received 277 complaints, which, after being reviewed by the legal teams and AMAs Council of Complaints, resulted in 87 being reported to the TikTok platform for legal violations. Of these, 85 have been removed from the TikTok platform, and 2 are still under review.
Piracy continues to be a major concern as a widespread online phenomenon. During the same period, in just three weeks, 697 videos were reported for audiovisual product piracy. Of these, 639 were deleted from the platform, and 78 profiles were immediately closed for the same reason, after being reported for pirate content.
“I encourage citizens to report any content they deem harmful, with the promise that every report will be reviewed responsibly and in accordance with legal provisions,” stated AMA Chair, Armela Krasniqi, on her social media.
