The President of the Audiovisual Media Authority, Mrs. Armela Krasniqi, together with a delegation from AMA, has started a tour of meetings in neighbouring countries to coordinate the work for the release of the 700 MHz frequency band.
Following her Agenda, Mrs. Krasniqi held a meeting with Mr. Jeton Akiku, Head of the Agency for Electronic Communications, in Northern Macedonia. During the discussions, the two Heads agreed in principle on the release of the 700 MHz band, and after the final incentives will continue with the signing of the Agreement in Tirana.
Northern Macedonia joins Bosnia and Herzegovina and Montenegro, which have agreed in principle to release the 700 MHz band.
During her visit to Northern Macedonia, Mrs. Krasniqi also met with counterparts of the Agency for Audio and Audiovisual Media Services (ASHMA), the Director Mr. Zoran Trajcevski and the Deputy Director Mr. Selver Ajdiniku, with whom Mrs. Krasniqi discussed the obligations deriving from the EU Directive 2018/1808 as well as the harmonization of current regulations with the best European practices.
The Parties committed to deepen and strengthen their cooperation and exchange experiences on common issues affecting both authorities.
