Transparency on the AMA-TikTok collaboration: 776 videos blocked for piracy and 95 for harmful content

This week has also been busy for the teams reviewing citizen reports on harmful content on TikTok. Since the beginning of the collaboration between AMA and this platform, and the opening of a dedicated link on the official website of the Authority where the public can report content they consider harmful, hundreds of such reports have been submitted.

Since the collaboration began on August 22, the following actions have been taken regarding harmful content:

  • 356 complaints were received by AMA
  • 99 have been deemed as violations of the law. Of these, 93 videos and 2 audio files have been removed from the platform, and 4 are still under review.

While piracy remains a concern as a widespread online phenomenon, through this collaboration with TikTok, the following actions have been taken:

  • 818 videos reported for piracy, of which 776 have been removed from the platform
  • 110 profiles were closed after being reported for pirated content, while 42 are under review.

In addition to piracy cases, citizens are encouraged to report harmful content that includes violence, hate speech, child abuse, abuse of communities, or violations of fundamental rights, etc.
