Following the collaboration established with TikTok in August of this year, and after the reporting of hundreds of pirated and harmful videos by citizens, another step was taken in strengthening this partnership.
The Chair of AMA, Ms. Armela Krasniqi, held a meeting with Lukasz Gabler, Public Policy and Government Relations Manager for CEE at TikTok. During the meeting, Ms. Krasniqi expressed her gratitude for the understanding and cooperation with this platform, which has granted the Authority access to a dedicated channel where all videos identified as violations of legal standards are sent after being reported by citizens. Thanks to this collaboration, hundreds of videos featuring harmful content such as violence, violations of children’s rights, use of unethical and hate speech, as well as videos containing pirated audiovisual products, have been blocked.
Following this meeting, Gabler and Arbias Llolluni, TikTok’s Policy Manager for Trust and Safety, held a training session with AMA’s team responsible for reviewing reports from citizens regarding harmful content posted on the platform. Llolluni gave a presentation on TikTok’s policies and addressed the team’s concerns and questions, tackling specific issues that have arisen over the past few months.
TikTok leaders are also in Tirana for another important initiative, a collaboration between AMA, CRCA/ECPAT Albania, and TikTok aimed at raising awareness and creating a Digital Agenda for the safety of children in the Western Balkans.
