The 11th Assembly of the Black Sea Broadcasting Regulatory Authorities Forum (BRAF) was held in Baku, Azerbaijan. This regional platform that brings together broadcasting regulatory authorities of the Black Sea Economic Cooperation (BSE) member states, addressed key topics related to the current challenges of media market regulation.
In compliance with the Forum’s regulations, the 9 represented countries participating in this activity presented their work and challenges from the past year in legal terms, through data, and by outlining concrete steps taken. During the panel, AMA’s Chair presented the progress and challenges faced in 2024. She emphasized the Authority’s engagement in legal reforms, alignment with European legislation, the Broadcasting Code, and the Media Literacy process significance.
“I must emphasize the importance of Media Literacy as a long-term investment in creating a well-informed and well-oriented audience in a media landscape that is evolving every day. Albania is facing challenges, such as the growing influence of digital platforms, therefore, this is a necessary process”, said AMA’s Chair.
The BRAF Assembly is an annual opportunity for the heads of member regulatory bodies to exchange best practices and when necessary, take joint steps and initiatives.
