For various law violations identified during the first 7 months of 2024, the Audiovisual Media Authority has issued 27 fines on different AVMSPs entities.
Through content monitoring, inspections by the inspection groups, and the review of complaints received by the Council of Complaints, broadcasts promoting violence or criminal acts, broadcasts that violate human dignity and fundamental rights, broadcasts of harmful content for children, illegal online broadcasts, violations of standards for broadcasting graphic images of criminal events, and others have been detected and sanctioned according to legal provisions. Additionally, during these seven months, AMA teams have dealt with media entities that failed to submit their financial statements or did not meet other legal obligations, such as declaring ownership structures, which also led to fines.
As a result of these violations, the first half of 2024 has concluded with 27 fines issued on various AVMSPs operating in the market.
The supervision and further regulation of the audiovisual media market, enforcement of the law, and punishment of violators are among AMA’s key objectives, aiming to ensure a professional audiovisual market in Albania.
