AMA and CRCA strengthen partnership for the safety of children and adolescents in the digital environment

AMA’s Chairwoman, Ms. Armela Krasniqi, welcomed the head of CRCA (the Children’s Rights Centre in Albania) as part of efforts to strengthen cooperation for the protection of children and adolescents in the digital environment.

During the meeting, Ms. Krasniqi emphasized that children’s safety in the online space remains one of AMA’s key priorities, in pursuit of building a safer, more responsible and more protective media environment for the most vulnerable age groups.

Cooperation with CRCA Albania has given concrete results and is now entering a new, more consolidated phase, with a particular focus on media literacy. According to Ms. Krasniqi, the development of critical skills among children, supporting parents in guiding media use and the role of teachers in educating the younger generation are key elements in addressing the challenges posed by digital communication.

The meeting also highlighted the need for a stronger response to hate speech and any form of abuse in digital media, emphasizing that there can be no tolerance for content that harms users, particularly children and adolescents.

Institutional cooperation will be accompanied by more coordinated actions to protect children and citizens in the digital space, in line with the most advanced European standards and the Digital Services Act requirements. This remains a long-term commitment to safeguarding the public interest and the younger generation’s safety.
