AMA’s Chairwoman, Ms. Armela Krasniqi, participated in the Fifth Plenary Meeting of the European Board for Media Services.
The Board’s Chair opened the meeting with an update on the implementation of the Board’s 2026 Work Programme. Ms. Renate Nikolay, Deputy Director-General at the European Commission’s Directorate-General for Communications Networks, Content and Technology (DG CONNECT), presented the latest developments and the European Commission’s strategic priorities in the media and digital services fields.
A significant part of the discussions focused on the work of the Board’s four Working Groups, which bring together the expertise of national regulatory authorities to develop common positions and joint deliverables.
The Board has actively contributed to the evaluation and review of the AVMSD, while also supporting the consistent and effective implementation of the EMFA, particularly in relation to media market concentrations and the protection of media service providers’ content on Very Large Online Platforms (VLOPs).
