The Audiovisual Media Authority’s Chairwoman participated in the 11th South East Europe Media Conference (SEEMC), organized by the OSCE Representative on Freedom of the Media (RFoM), under the topic “Strengthening Journalism as a Public Good”.
Ms. Krasniqi took part in the panel discussion “Media Ownership Transparency in Practice: A Comparative Regional Analysis”, alongside Olaf Steenfadt, founder and director of the Global Media Registry and Leunora Kaliqi, Chair of the Board of the Media Ethics Council in North Macedonia. The panel was moderated by Marius Dragomir, Director of the Media and Journalism Research Center.
During her presentation, Ms. Krasniqi highlighted the Audiovisual Media Authority’s work in developing and publishing the audiovisual media ownership transparency register, a comprehensive and detailed database extending to ultimate beneficial owners and accessible through AMA’s official website.
She also addressed the legal amendments adopted in January of this year concerning the strengthening of media ownership transparency, as well as the data published by AMA in its Periodic Bulletin, which also includes information on investments made by media entities in other business sectors.
The discussions and presentations at the 11th South East Europe Media Conference were regarded as an important opportunity for the exchange of experiences, the strengthening of regional cooperation and the establishment of new cooperation bridges.
