Following the successful completion of the media literacy campaign “Media Literacy for Preschool Ages”, carried out in kindergartens in urban Tirana on the initiative of the Council of Complaints at AMA , a nationwide campaign has been launched, this time focused on pre-university students.
The campaign began with the students of “Kostandin Kristoforidhi” High School in Elbasan, where AMA’s Chairwoman, Ms. Armela Krasniqi and the Head of the Council of Complaints, Ms. Mirela Oktrova, discussed with the students about disinformation risks, protection of online privacy and the importance of critical thinking in the digital age.
The second meeting was held in the city of Lezhë with the “Hydajet Lezha” High School students , where AMA’s Chairwoman explained to the young participants the risks hidden behind mobile phone screens, online gaming, communications with strangers, etc.
According to Krasniqi, the first step, critical thinking, is essential to staying safe in the virtual world and to confronting dangers linked to the consequences of hate speech, the misuse of our personal data, violence, harmful content, and various forms of abuse.
The initiative is being carried out in cooperation with the Ministry of Education, the National Agency for Pre-University Education and the Agency for Quality Assurance in Pre-University Education. It aims to raise young people’s awareness of the safe and responsible use of media and digital technology. Activities will continue in other cities across the country throughout 2026.
