In the context of the commitments arising from Chapter 10, “Digital Transformation and Media”, and at the Ministry of Infrastructure and Energy initiative, a dialogue meeting was held today on the Albanian legislation harmonization with the Digital Services Act (DSA).
The meeting was chaired by the Deputy Minister of Infrastructure and Energy, also Co-Negotiator for Chapter 10, Ms. Enkelejda Muçaj, and was held in the presence of the European Union expert, Mr. Francesco Sciacchitano, who provided a detailed presentation of the DSA, the innovations it introduces in the online platforms regulation, as well as the modalities for its implementation and transposition into Albanian legislation, in line with EU standards and practices.
In her remarks, AMA’s Chairwoman, Ms. Armela Krasniqi, emphasized AMA’s commitment to fulfilling the obligations arising from Chapter 10, noting that one of the key priorities remains the Digital Services Act transposition into Albanian legislation.
The meeting was attended by public institutions representatives contributing to Chapter 10 and involved in the implementation of the DSA, civil society organizations, business representatives, as well as international partners. Discussions focused on the legal and regulatory framework in Albania, options for alignment with the DSA, the role of the Digital Services Coordinator (DSC) and institutional coordination, including with the European Commission.
Albania remains committed to harmonizing its national legislation with that of the European Union as part of its path toward European integration.
