Following the situation and efforts to contain COVID-19 spread, the Audiovisual Media Authority (AMA) reminds audiovisual subjects to show maximum responsibility for protecting staff, who work in recording and broadcasting studios and editorial offices.
Under the current circumstances, studio audience in live or recorded TV programs is forbidden.
No more than 2 people shall be present in newscasts or forums, and they will respect social distancing and standards foreseen in the latest guidelines on preventing COVID-19 spread, published by the Ministry of Health.
Increasing the number of live coverage in distance shall decrease virus spread.
The engagement and hard work of audio and audiovisual editorial offices for reporting and covering on-site developments shall also entail health protection of journalists and support staff in order to prevent unwanted effects of COVID-19.
Considering citizens’ health as crucial, from March 12th, 2020, AMA will monitor all audiovisual broadcasting and identified negligence cases and start the necessary administrative procedures on violations of the above-mentioned requirements.
