Important Step for Digitalization: Analogue TV Broadcasts for Tirana and Durrës Districts were Closed
September 10, 2018
Audiovisual Media Authority, AMA, announces that today, on September 10, 2018, analogue audio and audiovisual broadcast for Tirana and Durres districts have been closed.
In this way, from today and in continuation in these two regions, where about one-third of Albania’s population lives, TV program followers will only reach them digitally. Switching off analogue broadcasts from national and regional television channels has been accompanied with the closure of all the unauthorized channels, and the issue of channel sorting has been resolved, according to AMA’s legal definition.
AMA is grateful to all the TV operators who have been cooperating in this vital process for the audiovisual broadcasting market, and is grateful for the patience of the citizens who will not only watch more quality broadcasts but also will have more added free channels. With the end of this process citizens will follow 34 free channels from the public and private programming packages that are broadcasted.
