The monitoring results of the protest’s live coverage across 12 news channels throughout June show the amount of airtime each channel devoted to the live broadcast of the protest.
Generalist television channels were not included in this monitoring. The 12 news channels included in the monitoring have nationwide coverage, both through free-to-air (FTA) channels and pay-TV packages.
The monitoring was conducted using the same methodology applied by AMA to monitor electoral processes.
An important monitoring element is that the total airtime does not include studio programmes, commentary, or interviews. In other words, only the time during which the protest itself was broadcast live was counted. Even in cases where the protest was shown in the background during studio programmes or broadcast simultaneously alongside them, that airtime was not included in the monitoring.
Consequently, the data provide a distinct monitoring of the actual time devoted to the live broadcast of the protest, with the results expressed in hours and minutes.
