The Audiovisual Media Authority (AMA) Chairwoman, Ms. Armela Krasniqi, participated in the 2026 Global Conference on Digital Platform Governance, organized by UNESCO in Pretoria, South Africa. Ms. Krasniqi led the Albanian delegation, accompanied by AMA’s Secretary General, Ms. Ronelda Rapollari and the Director of the Cabinet, Ms. Alida Cenaj.
During the first session, dedicated to the digital platforms regulation, AMA’s Chair was invited to speak on Albania’s experience in implementing harmful content reporting mechanisms on video-sharing platforms. During her word, Ms. Krasniqi emphasized the challenges faced by countries like Albania, where monitoring structures are still developing, highlighting the importance of building institutional capacities and fostering international cooperation.
“I want to share with you the experience we at AMA have built through our cooperation with TikTok and X. The strong results we’ve achieved through these partnerships have demonstrated that public trust, strong technical and professional capacities and swift, law-based action make the right formula for regulating this new media reality.” – emphasized Krasniqi.
The conference organized by UNESCO marks the second annual meeting of the Global Forum of Networks (GFN). Ms. Krasniqi was a founding co-signatory in her capacity as President of the Mediterranean Network of Regulatory Authorities (MNRA) in 2024 in Dubrovnik, Croatia.
This meeting represents a concrete step in the implementation of the GFN 2024–2026 Roadmap for Action and in strengthening global cooperation for digital platforms governance.
