Following the report of television piracy by the Audiovisual Media Authority, the State Police has arrested five entity administrators for illegally selling TV packages. Meanwhile, three others have been declared wanted.
The Chair of AMA, Ms. Armela Krasniqi, thanked the State Police for their collaboration in uncovering and addressing the cases reported by AMA’s inspection teams.
“Today, the audiovisual market has fewer violators. The police operation, code-named “The Decoder”, created based on findings from our inspection teams, was concluded with the identification of 7 online entities that were illegally selling television channel packages, violating AMA’s Law No. 97/2013, and breaching the Penal Code,” stated Mrs. Krasniqi. She added that the administrators of these entities have been brought to justice.
For months, AMA’s teams have been working on the field to identify pirate IPTV operators across the country’s regions, and also has reported the violators to the relevant authorities.
