Respecting the law on the broadcasting of political advertisements
The Audiovisual Media Authority, AMA, in the process of monitoring the broadcasted content, identified that from some audiovisual subjects on 09.05.2017 has started to issue a political ad. Advertising was prepared by the Democratic Party of Albania based on a political meeting that it will organize in Tirana on 13.05.2017.
AMA remembers all audiovisual subjects, that based on law no. 97/2013 “On Audiovisual Medias in the Republic of Albania”, amended, is not allowed to broadcast political ads. Referring to the provisions of Article 39 and Article 41, paragraph 2, broadcasts of such advertisements are prohibited. Such content is allowed only during the period of electoral campaign development, based on the Electoral Code of the Republic.
AMA recall the attention to all audiovisual subjects to comply with the requirements of law 97/2013 for commercials and commercial communications when broadcasting programs for the audience.
